Share
If you've left it until the last minute to get a Mother's Day gift for grandma, these paper flowers are a really easy craft activity you can do with children of any age, even toddlers. Let's be honest, how much more meaningful is a handmade gift anyway? There's still time for a handmade gift for Mother's Day!
These paper flowers are so easy to make even if you're not naturally creative and don't have a massive craft cupboard.
Follow my step-by-step instructions to make a bunch of beautiful paper flowers for your loved one this Mother's Day.
What you'll need
You should be able to do this craft activity with items you already have in the house. Here's what you're going to need:
- A few sheets of paper (ideally in a few different colours
- Some paper straws
- A pencil
- Some scissors
- Sticky tape
- And a child's hand!
Draw the hand/flower shapes

Pull together a few sheets of paper. Choose lots of spring colours for the most colourful bouquet. Draw around your little person's hand. If they're preschool or school age they may like to do this themselves.
Cut out

Carefully cut out the hand shapes. Please supervise children if they want to cut them out themselves.

Constructing the Flowers

Take the hand shapes you've cut out and wrap each one around the top of a paper straw. Use sticky tape to secure.

Curling the Petals

This craft is designed as something really easy you can do with young children. The smaller their hand the cuter the flowers! Remember Grandma's love nothing more than a handmade gift for Mother's Day :)
