Christmas Decoration Ideas for Children and Families
Decorating at Christmas is one of my favourite things and when you have children decorations help to make the festive period even more magical. Every year I like to find new pieces to add to our collection.
I've pulled together my favourite small business finds for decorating in Christmas 2021, with children and families in mind. I love shopping small, at this time of year especially, as the products you buy have had a lot of care and attention put into their design and creation. Christmas Essentials
There are some things that are essential when it comes to Christmas decor, although over the years this list of must-have decorations has grown! I have chosen some of the more unique items which I think will add something special to your home this Christmas.
Red Nutcracker Christmas Sack
It wouldn't be Christmas without the Christmas Eve ritual of hanging a stocking or sack out for Santa - it was one of my favourite memories as a child.

Bunting is a versatile decoration all year around, but at Christmas we love to hang some from the staircase, mantlepiece or even on the Christmas tree.
Gingerbread Man Tree Topper
What could be more adorable than this gingerbread man sitting on top of your tree? Shelly has a range of character tree toppers, but this gingerbread man holding the star is my favourite.

When it comes to tree decorations it's nice to find alternatives to baubles and these knitted hanging decorations would make a great addition this year - available in either a holly or mistletoe design.

I think when you have children, there's something lovely about buying a new personalised decoration for the tree each year. I'm a huge fan of pastels at Christmas (in case you hadn't guessed!). This year pastel decorations have become the seasons biggest trend, whether you're just looking to add a little bit of pink to your decor or going for something even more colourful.

We love the pastel trend this Christmas - kids will love these pretty coloured decorations. New for 2021, our pastel rainbow bunting has been updated with sparkle. We love the smaller size of bunting as an alternative Christmas tree decoration and it can repurposed into a child's room after the festive season is over.
