7 Creative Ways to Hang Bunting in a Child’s Bedroom
Share
One of my most asked questions is how to hang bunting in a child's bedroom or nursery.
I love bunting as a really easy way to add charm and personality to a child’s bedroom. It's a great decoration for bringing all the colours of a theme together, but did you know there are lots of creative ways you can hang bunting? Here are seven fun and easy ways to style bunting in your child’s room:
1. Use a Peg Rail as a Central Point
A peg rail is a great anchor for hanging bunting on a wall and allows you to create a lovely draped effect. Hang a long piece of bunting across the width of the room and use extra hooks a different points along the wall to create decorative swags, like the pastel bunting below.
2. Adhesive Wall Hooks for Short Lengths
If you only have a short length of bunting, adhesive wall hooks are a fantastic solution.
3. Drape Bunting From a Canopy
For a really beautiful effect, tie a long piece of bunting to the top of a canopy and attach the other end to the opposite side of the ceiling. This creates a lovely draped look that adds a touch of magic to the room. Use a small tack or wall hook to secure the bunting in place for a seamless finish.
4. Peg Rail for a Shorter Length of Bunting
If you have a shorter length of bunting, such as one of our personalised buntings, a peg rail is a perfect way to display it. Simply wrap around one of the pegs to secure it. I love a peg rail - not only does it provide a convenient spot for hanging essentials like blankets and clothing, but it's a great place to display other decorations.

5. Statement Bunting Across the Ceiling
Make a bold statement by hanging two long pieces of bunting from corner to corner across the ceiling. For added security, wrap the ends around the top of the light fitting. This is such an eye-catching display and can completely transform the theme of your little one's room, just by changing the colour of the bunting.

6. Full Width of the Room at Ceiling Height
Another way to create real impact in a child's bedroom is to hang a long piece of bunting across the full width of the room at ceiling height. Attach in a few places across the width of the room to create a swag effect as shown here. Magic tape may hold it in place, but for a more secure attachment, small tacks may be a better option.
7. Layered Bunting for a Coordinated Look
Why stop at just one? Create a layered effect by hanging a long length of bunting across the corner of the room while adding a matching short personalised bunting lower down using hooks and a peg rail. This layered display adds more depth to the theme colours, making it even more magical for your little one.
No matter what length you choose, bunting is a really stylish and easy way to inject colour into your child's bedroom. Try out these different methods and see which works best for your space. Let me know which is your favourite!
